Privacy policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
When your site has been hacked you may have to share things you would normally keep to yourself. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Unhack My Site is run by Unhack My Site LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States. We are the controller of personal information we determine the purposes and means of using for our own business. You can write to us at:
Unhack My Site LLC30 N Gould St, Ste N

Or email us at hello@unhackmysite.net.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and how you prefer to be reached.
- About your site: its address, what you are seeing, and anything else you tell us about the problem.
- Access details: logins for your site, hosting, DNS or other accounts we need to do the work. We use these only for your case.
- Billing details: your billing name and address and what you bought. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
Information we come across while working
Cleaning a site means looking at its files, database and logs. These can hold personal information about your own visitors or customers, such as user accounts, orders or form entries. Where you determine the purposes and means of processing that information, we act as a processor. We access it only as far as the recovery needs, we don’t use it for anything else, and we handle it on your behalf and under your instructions.
Information collected automatically
When you visit unhackmysite.net, our hosting provider records standard server logs: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies; see our cookie policy.
How we use it
- To recover and protect your site, and to keep you updated while we do.
- To provide the plan you signed up for, such as Guard monitoring or Haven hosting.
- To bill you and keep the records the law requires.
- To answer your questions and handle support requests.
- To keep our own systems and this website secure.
We don’t sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of you.
Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place with similar rules, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to deliver the work or plan you asked for, and to take steps you asked for before signing up.
- Legal obligation: to keep tax and accounting records.
- Legitimate interests: to keep our services and this website secure, and to answer enquiries. We weigh these against your rights.
- Consent: where we ask for it. You can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need:
- website and server hosting providers
- email and messaging providers
- our payment provider
- backup and storage providers
- accountants and professional advisers
They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Access details: deleted when your case closes. We will also ask you to change any passwords you shared with us.
- Case records and correspondence: for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable time afterwards, so we can honour our re-clean guarantee and answer questions about past work.
- Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Copies of your site taken during recovery: deleted once the work is done, unless you have a plan that includes backups, in which case they follow that plan.
How we protect it
Security is our job. We limit access to the people working on your case, use encrypted connections and storage, and keep access details out of email where we can. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong
- delete your information
- limit or object to how we use it
- send your information to you or another provider in a portable format
California residents also have the right to know what we collect and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
To make a request, email hello@unhackmysite.net or write to the address above. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within the time the law allows. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant we will tell customers by email before it takes effect.
